Booking a Car

When you book with Thistrict, you agree to these simple rules. We are a small team based at 67 George Street in Edinburgh. To rent one of our cars, you must be at least 25 years old. You need a full, valid driving license. We focus on business hire for managers and delegations. This means we expect our cars to be used for professional travel. By using our website to request a car, you say you understand how our service works. We keep our terms clear and avoid complex legal talk. No hidden tricks here. Just honest rules for renting our navy blue fleet. If you do not agree with these points, you should not book a vehicle with us. We might update these terms from time to time. We will always post the newest version on this page. Your booking follows the rules that were active on the day you made it. We want every trip to be easy and reliable for your team.

Delivery and Timing

We aim to put keys in your hand in 55 minutes at the airport terminal. To make this happen, we need your flight number before you land. Our team tracks the plane. If your flight is late, your driver will wait. If the plane lands early, we try to be there early too. Our driver will meet you in the arrivals hall. You must show your original driving license at that time. If you are not at the meeting point within 30 minutes of landing without telling us, we may have to move the car. This helps us keep our fleet ready for other clients. For office deliveries in places like The Gyle or the city centre, we need a clear spot to park. We use digital tablets for all paperwork to save you time. It usually takes about 4 minutes to check the car and hand over the keys. We work hard to stay on time for every handover.

Vehicle Use and Fuel

Every car in our fleet is navy blue and has zero rental stickers. You must keep the car in this condition. Please do not put your own stickers or ads on the paint. You are responsible for any fines, like speeding or parking tickets, while you have the car. We deliver every vehicle with at least 300 miles of fuel in the tank. You can bring the car back empty if you are in a rush to catch a flight. We do not charge high penalty fees for this. We simply charge the local petrol station price and a flat £12 service fee to top it up for the next manager. Smoking is strictly not allowed in any of our vehicles. If a car needs a deep clean because of smoke or a mess, we will charge a flat cleaning fee. If the car has a mechanical issue, call our office immediately. We will swap it for an identical navy blue model in under 120 minutes. This is our uptime promise.

Driver Paperwork and Insurance

We need your documents at least 48 hours before the car is delivered. This includes a clear photo of your license and a utility bill for your home address. Our insurance provider is strict about these details. You must have at least 3 years of driving experience to use our fleet. We cannot hire to drivers with major bans or many recent points. If you need a second driver for a weekly booking, tell us 24 hours in advance. We can usually add them for free. Our insurance covers standard business use across the UK. It does not cover racing, track days, or off-road driving. You are responsible for the insurance excess if there is an accident. We explain the exact amount clearly before you sign the tablet. We keep our cars in top shape with an 11-point check before every hire. If you see a small scratch we missed, please tell the driver during the handover so we can note it down.

Payments and Cancellations

We show our rates clearly so there are no surprises. A daily hire is £145. This includes your insurance and delivery to the airport or office. We do not like hidden fees. You can pay when you book or during the key handover. If your plans change and you need to cancel, please tell us at least 24 hours before the delivery time. We will give you a full refund in that case. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, we might charge for one day of hire to cover our prep costs. For long-term hires, we send an invoice every 28 days. You can end a monthly hire by giving us 7 days' notice. We do not lock you into long debt or complicated leasing contracts. If you need to keep the car for longer, call Callum or Alastair at the office. If the car is free, we will update your paperwork so you can stay on the move.
